Every year youngsters show their abilities at student and youth contests throughout Germany.
For the invitation of Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan, Federal Minister of Education and Research, 300 youngsters who have been awarded at these contests will meet on the Talent Day between the 17th and 19th of September, 2011 in Berlin. Since 2006 The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung) has been organising this event every year in the capital to where it invites German youngsters who have performed outstandingly at student and youth contests. The intention is to raise attention of the diverse abilities these youngsters possess and to merit them for the results achieved at national student contests. With this reward the Ministry encourages the students to further unfold their talents.
During the weekend, which is filled with colourful programs, students will have the chance to meet recognized experts of their field of interest and join them in experiments in scientific and IT workshops. They will have the opportunity for personal encounters and discussions with artists in the field of contemporary music, literature and films. They will be awaited by ceremonial stage performances and in addition to this, youngsters will have the possibility to interchange ideas amongst themselves. By the organising of the Talent Day 2011 The Federal Ministry of Education intends to contribute to the strengthening the young in their inner motivation through personal examples of experienced professionals coming from diverse fields and through discussions and encounters with students with similar interests.
